  1. The 18th January is a Very Important Day for a much loved Bear, who has brought a great many people considerable enjoyment over the years.

It's Winnie the Pooh Day!  Three Cheers for Pooh!

I adore the stories about Pooh with his friends Christopher Robin, Eyeore, Piglet, Kanga, Owl, Rabbit and of course the bouncy Tigger...all set in the stunning Ashdown Forest.

One of my favourite poems from the Winnie the Pooh book starts off, "Three Cheers for Pooh" - my Dad loved it as well!

The Winnie the Pooh stories have been enjoyed by people of all ages for decades, and the day is a great opportunity to stop and enjoy some Pooh time in whatever way you decide to do it!

  2. Well, I know the weather is getting chillier.... and that spring seems a bit far off... but Emma Bridgewater has launched her new Spring Collection, and among it is the very pretty Wallflower range.

The Wallflower range has jugs, mugs, plates, pasta bowls, teacups and saucers, tea-pots and more.  You can also personalise some (but not all) of the products.

There are napkins too but they went out of stock pretty quickly - hopefully there will be more in soon.

If you're looking for a gift for Mother's Day for mums who love flowers and gardens, you could personalise one of these gifts for your mum.

  3. The weather forecast tonight is saying that it is going to get colder - we can expect cold winds to sweep down from the Arctic.   Brrrrr!!!

With this in mind, please spare a thought for our feathered friends and give them plenty of goodies to eat.

The Garden Bird & Wildlife Co are offering 10% this weekend until midnight on Monday 11 January 2016 on all offers of wild bird food over £25.00.  Just use the code WEEKEND10.  Click here to buy your bird food.

And don't forget to register for the Big Garden Birdwatch at the end of January 2016.  All you have to do is to visit the RSPB's website and sign up - and then spend a pleasurable hour watching and making a note of those birds you see visiting your garden.  Then it's just a matter of letting the RPSB know what you've seen.   Last year over 500,000 people took part in this event - you can pick an hour to suit you, and if you don't have a garden, just pick a local green space such as a park.  Visit the RSPB's website for more info

  5. This year, the Landmark Trust celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The Landmark Trust takes on historic places in danger and carefully and sensitively restores them.   And it makes them available for holidays, so that they can be enjoyed by people today and in the future.  The Trust has properties in the UK, but also Italy and France.

To celebrate its 50th Birthday, the Landmark Trust has joined forces with Emma Bridgewater, and the latter has produced this Landmark Trust Half Pint Mug for £19.95.   The hand-drawn design includes delicate drawings of Gothic Temple, Swiss Cottage, Ingestre Pavilion and Laughton Place, amongst others.

This could be a great gift for anyone who loves history and historic houses.  Click here to go to Emma Bridgewater's website
